The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a new photo of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, along with a photo of the quorum. The pictures, which were taken in the Church Administration Building on March 4, 2026, include Elder Clark G. Gilbert, who was called as an Apostle on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, following the passing of President Jeffrey R. Holland.

“Apostle” was the title Jesus gave to the Twelve whom He chose to be His closest disciples. Apostles are special witnesses of Jesus Christ. Anciently, Jesus Christ called and sent His Apostles forth to represent Him. Today’s Apostles are also called to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the second-highest leadership body of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the First Presidency being the highest).
