AP-2021-Aug-MYSDOWNLOAD

The Asia Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been reorganized with Elder David P. Homer as the new Area President, effective August 1, 2021.

Elder Homer replaces previous Area President, Elder David F. Evans who, with his wife Mary, has returned to the United States. Elder Peter F. Meurs will serve as first counselor in the Presidency and Elder Benjamin M. Z. Tai is joining the presidency as the new second counselor.

As General Authority Seventies of the Church, Elders Homer, Meurs and Tai typically travel throughout the Area to strengthen, train and encourage Church members, leaders and missionaries. In the current COVID environment, the Presidency spends much of their time doing these things by way of technology.

“In today’s world,” the Asia Area Presidency said, “many are seeking hope, peace and purpose in life. We know that developing faith in Jesus Christ, and following Him, can do just that.”

The Presidency consider it a privilege to associate with members, leaders and friends in the Area’s 22 countries or regions.

“We love Asia and the people here,” they said. “It is a special opportunity for us to serve together in this capacity. We feel God’s deep love for all of His children and want to do our part to help that love bless more lives.”
