Snow and snowmen are definitely not seasonal experiences in equatorial Malaysia but, having joy in creating the artistries of the wintery season was a perfect service activity. The sisters from the Relief Society of Cheras Branch, Malaysia spent an afternoon together making cute, adorable snowmen as part of a ministering initiative.
It was indeed a welcomed opportunity doing something productive and meaningful. The objective was to prepare ahead of the Christmas season and design a gift of love to share with sisters or families whom they minister to. While doing so, they also learned a new creative and artistic skill.
In Mosiah 2:17 it reads, “…when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God.” Having to reciprocate their new found craft skill by blessing the lives of others is an act of discipleship. It can go a long ways in the life of family, friends, acquaintances and visitors. The Gospel of Jesus Christ certainly exemplifies all good acts for mankind.
